For the Dutch Design Week 2011 last month the curators Rachel Griffin and Elise van Mourik invited 10 designers to deal with methods, materials and manufacturing thoroughly in order to design a new project. All 10 Netherlands-based designers have a complete different approach. Some of them analysed surfaces or developed new material, some came up with new types of moulds and others worked intuitionally with the idea of ‘power of making’ in their heads. This process can lead to innovations, which are the grounds of the show. Find some images of MASS below and make sure to check every designers website for more details on their projects.
