max lipsey lives in eindhoven. the american designer was exhibiting his coathooks at spazio rosana orlandi last month during design week.
djim berger: porcelain man
djim berger is student at the design academy who will graduate this year. he is obsessed with ceramics. I had the chance to have a look on what he is doing (the first samples) for his final project but I’m curious what we will see at the graduation show.
dik scheepers: mud lamp
dik scheepers is a product design student at the academy maastricht, netherlands. before he decided to become a designer he worked as chemical laboratory worker in amsterdam and as a fine mechanics toolmaker in leiden. both was not enough for him.
this is his mud lamp. a lamp made of sand, mud and recycled paper. the idea was to make a product that uses as little as possible energy in production and transport. and to make a product that fits into the current hype of ecodesign.
deadgood: britsh love of design
I’ve met dan ziglam and elliot brook at the imm cologne, international furniture fair, this week. the uk-based directors of deadgood, a furniture company of young design, started their business after meeting in university. they run their ‘baby’ with a lot of passion and love. ;-)
lutz caesar: animal sweater
lutz caesar is a photographer. he is the one who took the picture of me above. lutz parents were on a trip in south america in 1981. they bought this sweater with the lama theme. and now, 28 years ago, lutz felt that its his time to wear it. (I want one with horses or with armadillos)
