this is ‘heimat’ by dominic plüer. the swiss-born graduate of the design academy created an affectionate container for a liquer that reminds him of switzerland. It really makes me want to hug it.

‘blok 7’ is the new product of the maastricht-based designer laurens hamacher, who works preferably with wood. his interest in the material is influenced by his childhood. he grew up in the belgian forests. laurens is exhibiting his new work in the strip-s, part of the dutch design week, which continues today.

this work is a chest of drawers and a bookshelf in one piece. guy keulemans, who did his masters in humanitarian design at the design academy, wanted to ‘presents an inversion of aesthetic function’ in his research project. his project is also on exhibition at the graduation galleries 2009 till October 25th.
